Please pray for the Farleys this week, who serve some of our local youth. Jason and Lisa Farley serve locally with Youth for Christ. Jason is the Campus Life Director for San Diego County as well as the youth pastor for Shadow Mountain’s Arabic Congregation. He and Lisa minister on public middle school and high school campuses through after-school and lunch clubs. Their goal is to reach lost students with the message of the Gospel and plug them into a local church. They also disciple Christian students to equip them to share and live out their faith. Please pray for revival in the hearts of students and for more volunteers to step forward so Youth for Christ can make a greater impact in San Diego county. Jason and Lisa would also appreciate prayers for wisdom as they invest in the lives of SMCC’s Arabic families.
It's Moving Up Weekend! All students will move up to their new grade this weekend. We look forward to seeing what God does in their lives over the next year!
Father's Day is right around the corner! We celebrate Dads in a big way at Shadow Mountain. We hope to see you at church on June 15th and 16th!
The same grace that brought us out of darkness and into light can help us to live a godly, self-controlled life. Dr. David Jeremiah, "Self-Control"
Please pray for the Calleja family this week! Eduardo and Odette Calleja are the first Hispanic missionaries from SMCC en Español and are serving the Lord at Rio Grande Bible Institute (RGBI) in Edinburg, Texas. Both were born in Mexico City and they have two children, Alexa and Ian. Eduardo serves the Lord as a Bible teacher, equipping students in the Word of God so that they can be sent out as disciple makers. He also serves as the personal assistant of the president of RGBI. Odette serves the Lord as Manager of the RGBI Christian Bookstore, which includes stocking the needed resources for each semester. Please pray for the family’s physical and spiritual strength, for the students of the Seminary, and for the graduates as they travel to different parts of the world to preach the Gospel. Pray for Eduardo to have wisdom in balancing all the demands on his time, as he is also studying for his master’s degree.
In his message "Knowledge" from the first chapter of Second Peter, Pastor Jeremiah mentioned Ruth Bell Graham's secret for establishing a consistent Bible study routine. Listen and find out what she suggested to help us study our Bibles more regularly. We hope to see you this weekend!

The more we know about God’s Word and His will, the more it will change our lives. Dr. David Jeremiah, "Knowledge"
Please pray for the Gibbs family as they take on a new role as missionaries. Bryan & Renee Gibbs and their three children returned to the United States in April after serving in Japan with The Navigators for the past 20 years. The focus of their work in Japan was raising up spiritual generations of Gospel laborers through evangelism and discipleship among college students and young professionals. The ministry they left behind is now entirely led by next-generation Japanese staff. This summer, Bryan & Renee will transition into a new role as Director of World Missions at the Navigators’ headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They will be responsible for recruiting, training, sending, and overseeing all American Navigator staff serving overseas. Please pray that the Lord would use Bryan & Renee to send out and sustain many highly-qualified missionaries. Pray that their ministry would result in spiritual generations of laborers advancing the Gospel among all the nations.
Today we honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice defending our freedom. We are thankful for what we have because of what they gave, and we pray for the loved ones they left behind. Have a blessed Memorial Day.
It's been rainy and gray outside, but come be refreshed this weekend as Pastor Jeremiah continues his series from 2 Peter!

No matter what we do throughout the day, let it be evident in our lives that we’re pleasing God. Dr. David Jeremiah, "Quality Control"
Please pray for the Dick family this week! Garran and Hannah Dick, along with their daughters have served with Ethnos360 in Papua New Guinea since 2017. They finished their initial language and culture training and at the end of last year moved to Bali Island where their goal is to establish a thriving church. They are in the beginning stages of learning the Bali language and culture by living in a village on the island and getting to know their neighbors and developing friends who may also serve as language helpers. They travel to and from the island by boat or helicopter. Please pray that they will always seek God first and humbly depend on Him for everything, for fluency in the language and protection for their family. Pray for the Bali people, that God would be readying their hearts and minds for the Gospel and would do a mighty work among them.

Please pray for the Binder family this week. Konrad and Betty Binder have served the Tagbanwa and Cuyonon people of the Philippines since 2008 with Ethnos360. They developed relationships through medical, social programs and simple friendships. In 2012 they started teaching the Word of God chronologically, and people became believers and were baptized. A church was established but is still in need of teaching and guidance to grow to maturity. The Binders returned to Germany for their children to attend school as required by the government. They are encouraging tribal church leaders through weekly Bible studies via the internet and making periodic trips to the Philippines. In Germany, Konrad is working with the publications department of Ethnos360 as a graphic designer and in recruiting and mentoring new missionaries. They also hope to edit and reprint the Cuyonon New Testament, which is desperately needed. Pray for the Binders as they serve in Germany and continue the ministry to the church on the island.

Our God is holy! Keep your eyes focused on Him! 📖 "I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted; and the train of His robe filled the temple. Above Him stood seraphim, each having six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. And they called out to one another: 'Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of Hosts; His glory fills all the earth.' The doorposts and thresholds shook at the sound of their voices, and the temple was filled with smoke." Isaiah 6:1-4

We have so much to be thankful for! Michael Sanchez ushered Shadow Mountain Worship right into the New Year with this song, "Thank You," by the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. At Christmastime, the cry of humanity is, "I want to be loved." The Christmas message to you is that God turned Himself toward people such as us, and at His birth He said, "I will never let anyone feel as if they are too unimportant to be recommended to Me in salvation." Dr. David Jeremiah, "The Joy of Christmas"
